I don’t know, it could be kind of trick to have a thermometer or some such on there. I think an altimeter would be the most desirable though. C’mon Japan, get on it.

This site offers registration and data collection for not only your bikes, but all of your important personal property, and allows easy means of getting that info to the cops and insurance when needed. Nothing you can’t do at home with a Google Docs and Evernote account or similar, but legitimized through law enforcement and municipal endorsement.

They even have an RFID chip implantable in the seat tube! Unfortunately, it’s not a GPS tracker, just an identifier that helps you theoretically claim possession of a found ride, if not actually recover the bike.

And kids, if you’re in SF, get on it.

The Surly Moonlander is just one of many ‘FAT BIKE’ offerings. 80+mm rims, anyone?

Long time readers may recall Team Lope Tyre Clubbe member JoeBlue, who opened a shop in Brooklyn, taking what we love to do here at TLTC (build bikes, help other people build bikes, then ride bikes, have a beverage, and the like) and making it a successful business model. His shop, 718 Cyclery, was featured in this awesome video, called ‘The Inverted Bike Shop’ and it perfectly captures the vibe of Joe’s shop, the mission statement of his build-with-the-customer philosophy, and his passion for the company. WELL DONE.
Give it a watch!

THIS is supremely interesting to me. not in the "i want it" sense, but in the mere sense that it exists at all. i think it would be cool as hell on a cute grrl’s townie bike, though.

I love the combination of finery and klugery here. Like the polished copper forks and the mangled rear brake cable. Pics:

Dig this Kickstarter project. Big aluminum bike light that is waterproof, theft-proof thanks to a special tool a la security skewers, and best of all, shaped like a revolver, for symbolism.
